Origins Modern Friction
£31 £10 TKMaxx
I haven't stopped raving about this since I picked it up a few weeks ago in TKMAxx, so I thought it was about time to do a review. I've had chance to give this a good go now so I can share my opinion!
Origins Modern Friction is a face exfoliator for getting deep into lines and pores to help reduce the look of them. This now comes in a tube rather than a tub, which could be my only explanation for it landing in my hands via my favourite shop. I'm unsure if the ingredients have been altered since Origins changed over to the tube but as far as I'm aware the product is very much the same. I can imagine it would work better in a tube as it is very sticky and thick so would probably work better squeezing it out rather than scooping.
I believe the sticky/gunkiness is due to the rice starch in the product which helps to remove dead skin cells. The product is really strange the first time you use it, I was quite taken aback but I persisted and once the water gets into contact with this it is very therapeutic. I tend to use this with my Body Shop face brush (review here) to get into all the knooks and crannies on my face. Once the exfoliator is mixed with water it becomes more of a foamy-cream and moves around your face really well.
I absolutely LOVE the way my skin feels after using this, it literally looks radiant - well as radiant as my skin gets. It really does EXACTLY what it says on the tin and gets right into your pores and sorts them out. My skin feels as soft as a baby's bum after using this. My pores have certainly improved size wise since picking this up, it does tend to bring your blackheads to the surface the first few times you use it though, so be prepared for that!
I've only been using this about 3 times a week, just cos I have a very sensitive face and I don't want to make it sore. But if you aren't too sensitive I would say use this 4/5 times a week. I use it on a night, purely because it's digging into my pores, I don't wanna clog them back up with make up.
This is the first Origins product I've tried and I am very, very impressed. I love that it hasn't made my skin break out and has improved the condition. I hope to get many, many more Origins goodies asap.
